Car history:
Vin# 194379S733688 - Clear TX title.
I'm selling this Corvette for the current owner who has had it for over 25 years. I drive it every weekend to charge the battery and circulate fluids. It runs effortlessly at 70 mph @ 3000 rpm and 80mph @ 3500rpm.
The engine starts on first crank and runs strong. The car drives and tracks straight. Speedometer shows 119K miles and the owner had engine rebuilt at 100K miles with Teflon-coating to top end and lower crank assembly.
This Corvette has a period correct rebuilt 350 300HP V8 that is a replacement for the original engine. Both the TH-400 automatic transmission and rear differential are original units.
Body Tag reads: CHEVROLET TRIM - Z04 PAINT - 990 ( Monaco Orange)
Monaco Orange is the original, factory paint color and the owner decided not to paint the car so that the new owner can see condition of body panels. This car has a solid body with no damage and the next owner can determine the level of paint job.
The Owner received a quote for a paint job for $750 to sand down to primer, spray with primer/sealer, and then spray a coat of enamel and final top coat with enamel UV protector.
The front valance was damaged by his wife when she stopped too close to a parking lot curb - a new one is included.
The Stingray emblems, checkered flag emblems, side vents, rear bumpers have been removed in preparation for paint. No cracks or damage to the body. All parts and hardware have been bagged and marked for ease of installation after new paint.
This is an all original Corvette except for headers/side pipes and VB&P Poly Leaf Springs. It is a prime candidate for a partial or full restoration, depending on the level of effort you want to perform and the amount you want to spend.
This engine starts easily, choke works properly and the engine runs strong. It is mechanically sound and dependable - can be used as a daily driver until time of restoration. This car will be 50 years old in 3 years and the value will only increase.
Options on this Corvette include: Factory Air Conditioning, Astro Ventilation, Power Windows, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column, Factory AM/FM stereo radio, Bucket Seat.
BODY: Ready for paint needs no body work other than installing front valance panel. Good fit-up on doors, hood, fenders and quarter panels - body is straight
Front valance was damaged by owner's wife - new front valance panel included. Front bumper is straight and chrome is in good shape. Rear bumpers are straight except they need to be re-chromed. Front windshield has crack on passenger side. Other windows are good. Car originally had a luggage rack. Holes are covered with plugs.
INTERIOR: Driver seat in good condition - passenger seat has a split seam in the bottom cushion (new foam & covers included). Door panels are in good condition but would need replacement during restoration. Speedometer and Tachometer both work. All gauges work, even clock. Recently the needle on Voltmeter fell off but it works. New driver window regulator passenger regulator was removed and re-conditioned. Electric window motors are in good shape and work good. Horn does not work but could be the horn button or a blown fuse. Seat belts were re-conditioned. They snap in place and tighten as designed
ENGINE and TRANSMISSION: Current owner had the engine Teflon coated by Poly-Dyne in Houston, TX. The engine does not leak or burn oil. Headers with Side Pipes sound good at idle and at freeway cruising. TH400 is in good condition and shifting is strong and positive. Shifter has lockable shift knob and comes with a key
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Starter is good. Alternator rebuilt 63 Amp charges to 14.5 Volts. New battery. All lights work - headlights open and close, taillights, turn signals, parking lights, brake lights. Windshield wipers do not work and wiper door opens when engine is started. OEM AM/FM Radio with rectifier is not hooked but owner said it worked previously.
FUEL SYSTEM: New rebuilt Carburetor from Summit Racing. New thermostatic choke spring. New fuel pump. New fuel tank cap. New accelerator cable. Fuel tank was removed and cleaned.
COOLING SYSTEM: Cooling system works good never overheats even in Houston temperatures. No leaks and contains 50/50 antifreeze.
BRAKE SYSTEM: Has SS brake calipers with Dot 5 fluid (see picture for fluid color). Rotors should be re-surfaced for better braking. Could also use a 4-wheel power bleeding.
OTHER FEATURES AND ACCESSORIES: 4 new Cooper Cobra tires - P235-60-15 only 50 miles. Pace Car aluminum wheels with new GM Restoration center caps are much better looking than stock wheels. Original factory spare rim is rust free (see picture) has good used tire that has been balanced. F/R VB&P Polyurethane leaf springs. OEM jack and lug wrench.
