Car history:
2) 1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE L79 NUMBERS MATCHING 4-SPEED. I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM A MAN IN MELBORNE FLORIDA WHO HAD OWNED IT SINCE 1980, 29 YEARS. THE CAR IS ENTIRELY ORIGINAL OTHER THAN THE PAINT AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIRES, FILTERS AND SUCH. I INTEDED TO RESTORE THE CAR TO ORIGINAL BUT HAVING A SON INSTEAD. THE CURRENT PAINT LOOKS GOOD BUT DOES HAVE FLAW WHEN YOU LOOK. HAS NOS REVIEW MIRROR AND WAITING ON A BACK ORDERED SIDE VIEW TO GET INSTALLED. CARPET IS GOOD-ORIGINAL WITH NEW FLOORMATS AND DOOR SILS. NO RUST AND PERFECT FRAME ON CAR, NICE, CLEAN MOTOR COMPARTMENT. THE TOP IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH A CLEAR WINDOW IN BACK. THE MOTOR HAS NEVER LEFT THE CAR OR BEEN OPENED UP FOR MORE THAN TUNE UP, IT HAS THE ORIGINAL 73,250 MILES. MOTOR RUNS REAL STRONG, FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE FAMED L79 MOTOR, IT COULD KEEP UP WITH MOST BIG BLOCKS OF THE TIME. CAR HAS POWER STEERING THAT IS PERFECT, NOT THE SMALLEST BIT OF PLAY OR WIGGLE. THE BRAKES ARE MANUAL BUT JUST RIGHT FOR THE CAR AND GOOD. NO LEAKS OR SMOKE AND RUNS GREAT. ALL WORKING GAUGES. ORIGINAL ROCHESTER CARB HAS BEEN REBUILT AND IDLES PERFECT. MUNCIE M21. TRANSMISSION AND SHIFTER OPERATE GREAT WITH REAL SOLID CLUTCH. MUFFLERS NEWER BUT PIPES ARE ORIGINAL. CAR COMES WITH NOS OWNERS MANUAL AND 1968 CORVETTE DEALER BROCHURE. WIPERS WORK WELL AS DOES HEADLIGHTS BUT LIGHTS NEED VACCUM FIXED. INTERIOR AGED WELL BUT DOOR PANELS SHOW SOME WEAR AS DOES DOOR JAMBS. CAR IS GREAT EXAMPLE OF A TOTALLY ORIGINAL, NUMBERS MATCHING ’68 CORVETTE L79 4SPEED. MOTOR STAMP VI412 HT. 73,223 miles from the odometer. July 4, 2009.
1) This is a SURVIVOR 1968 Corvette Convertible that is an ALL NUMBERS matching rare 327/350hp, factory four speed, original (chrome distributor covers, Rochester Q-Jet carb, 4 speed trans, rear end, engine and distributor). This beautiful car is ALL there and ready for restoration if so desired or just drive and enjoy it. Vette runs and drives 100% and is used as a daily driver. Windshield wipers work, the convertible top frame is perfect and in great working condition. The convertible top is in good shape with 3 minor less than 1/2 slits on each side as shown in the pictures. Has original tire rims and beauty rings. Windshield structure is solid and is not rusted, both receiving mounts for the convertible top are new and just replaced because in 1968 the drivers side was pot metal and wore out over the years. Paint code is 988 so the original color was Cordovan Maroon and the color was changed in 1982 at a Chevrolet dealer. Vette sat in a closed storage for over 10 years and was recently removed. As one picture shows this Vette was last titled in 1980. 73,049 miles. April 4, 2009.
