| Car history: |
A true 'barn-find' big block '71 Corvette convertible stored since 1980; inside storage allowed only cosmetic deterioration. The Warbonnet Yellow is mostly original with some 70's USA patriotic/hippie decoration. She was a southern car until Mr. Dixon transferred to Dayton in 1980 and garaged the Corvette. The drive- train is all original (numbers absolutely correct) with most every factory component intact. The vinyl hardtop is especially nice with great headliner panels and w/s. White soft-top has a great frame and original canvas is still intact (no rear window). Frame and undercarriage is excellent with only minor surface scale: no damage or deterioration. Original shifter on the original 4-speed. Original 454/365 HP is all complete and ready for restoration. Even shielding and plug wires are factory. Chrome is most all in very good condition with minor hazing. Panel fit is very good; doors, top panel and hood open/close well. Rally wheels, rings and caps are in very good shape. All gages, radio and controls are excellent. Tilt/tele column and wheel are excellent as well. The body has not been hit and only a few wheel lip nicks and minor damage in front of left front tire at the spoiler area. Interior is original and complete. Glass is all very good and all original.
She is an excellent candidate for restoration and will reward the new owner with a desirable rare, original, optioned '71 convertible suitable for the most discriminating NCRS purist or any potential Corvette aficionado with a 'need for speed'! We have not attempted to start engine or begin any restoration; it is as she was pulled from the 'barn' except for minor clean-up as shown. It has been sitting in the dark since 1980: 32 years! This Corvette could be delivered for expenses to Carlisle next week if desired and $2000 deposit at end of auction (paypal or wire transfer if possible) with payment in full within 5 days. An on site inspection is encouraged and sale is 'as-is, where- is'. Thank you, Jake @ 740-606-9474 . eBay Item number: 280943606963 |
