| 1) 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 327 V8 4 Speed Manual Project Car. This auction is for a used 1968 Chevy Corvette that is NOT in running condition and should be considered a project car. I'm representing a local bank in this auction. The bank repossessed this vehicle from a classic car enthusiast. The bank has clear title in the bank's name. this is an Oklahoma title and the title reflects Repo. This car is in Perry Oklahoma. If you are local, (Perry is 1 hour north of Oklahoma City) I would strongly encourage you to inspect this car in person before the end of the auction. The Odometer currently shows 21,341, actual mileage is unknown (title says Odometer Exempt). Believed to have been in barn storage for the past 13 years. The Vette is presented in its barn condition dirty, dusty, with mouse/droppings and damage to wiring and interior. VIN 194678S400754, TRIM TAG 974 (Rally Red Exterior)/Standard (Black Interior). This is a base model with a 327 engine and 4 speed manual transmission. Note: I do not know the repair or service history of this Vette since it was a repo. I'm not a mechanic but a car guy and here are my observations of the car: The Good: Engine is not seized and is numbers matching to the car, Engine looks unmolested and stock, Transmission: you can depress the clutch and put car in neutral and shift through the gears. I was not able to confirm if transmission is numbers matching but assume it is, All fluids looked clean and topped off, Bird cage checked at kick panel: appears to have only surface rust I but can't determine if there is more significant rust, Frame from underneath: looks to be solid, Appears gas tank and exhaust have been replaced recently. Have 1 ignition key Issues Noticed: Fiberglass body appears solid and could not find any major repairs. There is crack with a bolt and a zip-tie on the front left corner (believe holding the fender in place), Paint is very rough - someone had started to prep the body for painting, Rubber seals for doors/windows have deteriorated, Convertible vinyl top will need replaced: frame appears good, Interior will need replaced: from seats to door panels to carpetsjust about everything needs, replaced except dash and steering wheel, Chrome bumpers pitted (missing rear left corner), Door handles broke, Tires/wheels are mismatched (4 chrome wheel rims and 4 centers where found in the car and included in this auction), Has two flat tires. I wanted to point out that if looks like the previous owner started a restoration on this vette. Besides the paint - the frame looks like it has been painted black (looking at the bird cage from the side kick panel and under the car), some bushings replaced, and a fairly new looking exhaust and gas tank. No bid at starting $4,500 on February 17, 2018. |
