| Car history: |
1) Original L-46 Car, Factory Monza Red on Red Interior, Original Engine and Drivetrain. Original Air Conditioned car. Have all AC Components and side pipe covers and insulators. All original pulleys, fan. Both Hard and Soft Top Included. Clean MA title in my name. Has factory Big Block hood in nice shape. Some of the interior converted to white from 75 or 76 Corvette. Seat and door panels. Tilt/Telescoping column. Would make great restoration project or killer resto-mod project and keep the original drivetrain. Worth more in parts than my reserve/buy it now price. All parts included are shown in the pictures. NOTE: Added 1/28: Since the auction started, a lady that owned the car for 40 years contacted me and gave me some additional history about the car. Back in the day the car had 70 rear quarters put on, which explains the rear flares. It was done well as when I inspected the car I saw no signs of grafted fiberglass work. She also bought brand new 1976 interior and that put in the car which explains the 1976 interior components I noted below. She was also kind enough to send me some old pics of the car which I posted. Interior: Pretty much needs everything. No seat belts or hardware. Dash pad in nice shape. All Original gauges there but faces are rusted. Tilt/Telescoping wheel works but chrome levers are rusted as is e-brake handle. Has steering wheel from mid-seventies C3 in good shape. Door panels are from mid-seventies C3 but have some cracks. Has one kick panel but was cut for speakers. Seats are from mid-seventies C3 but are in rough shape but tracks move free. Original shifter but has old school T-handle with reverse lockout. Windshield pillar trim there but probably should be replaced. No carpet. Hinges for storage/battery compartments should be replaces. Quarter panel trim pieces there. Has sun-visor rods but needs soft parts of sun-visors. Engine/Transmission: Original numbers matching L46 with correct VIN stampings. Original Camel hump 202 big valve heads. Engine seems to run well with good oil pressure and no knocks. All original pulleys, fan, radiator shroud, exhaust manifolds. Original distributor but not hooked up to tach cable since someone changed the intake and didn't clock the distro right. Some of the ignition wire shielding (see pics). Only thing that doesn't look original is intake, carb, air cleaner. Original AC compressor and brackets. Original transmission and looks to be original differential. No air cleaner. Wheel/Tires: Nice original rally wheels all around. Nice trim rings and center caps. Tires hold air and are good as rollers but need to be changed for street use. Body: Straight body with no signs of accidents or past repair. Fiberglass body in great shape with no signs of accidents or modifications. Needs driver side door. Passenger's door seems very fixable and fiberglass is in great shape. Doors open and close nice. Some very minor/stress cracks around headlight buckets but they are typical and an easy fix. Body was stripped down and coated in primer so you can see what you get. Some of the emblem holes were filled in with bondo (not sure why they would do that) but can be easily located and drilled out. Windshield Frame and Lower Cowl has some rust and rot. All pieces seem to be available through Zip Corvette and other suppliers. Engine Cross Member lower plate only has some rust holes. Can buy this piece from Zip Corvette (about $150) and is an easy fix One Frame truss is rotted near the driver's side kick up. Can also buy this piece and is an easy fix. One seat belt reinforcement rusted out. One Body Mount should be replaced where it is riveted to the body. Drivers side rear. Rest of frame seems very solid including kick ups. Definitely better than most and an easy repair. Radiator Support rusted. About $200 through various suppliers. Lower Radiator Support Cross member rusted but this is a bolt on piece readily available. The Good: Fiberglass good and uncut. No signs of accidents. Clear MA title in my name. Will have no issue registering it. Nice OEM Rally wheels, centercaps and trim rings all around. Have all side pipe components. All metal complete with no pieces broken off. Need refinishing. Fiberglass insulators have one small piece broken off but included. Original Glass in decent shape with the exception of the windshield. All AC components intact including original compressor. Doors open and close nice. What it's missing: Original Seats, Seats Belts/Seat Belt Trim, One kick panel, Headlight buckets, Front and Rear Bumper, Front Bumper Brackets, Grill and Grill Trim, Original Door Panels, One rear Caliper and Rotor, Gas tank and filler neck, Spare Tire Carrier, Original Intake and Carb, Radio and Antenna, Some of spark plug wire shielding, Front Corvette emblem between the headlights, Rear c-o-r-v-e-t-t-t-e letters. What else is wrong: E-Brake seized, Rust on gauge faces, Needs mufflers, Seats in poor shape. Some rusted/broken springs, Power steering ram seems to have a slow leak. No belt currently going to power steering pump (it was like that when I bought it) Probably other stuff I am missing. I included a picture of all the loose parts I have for the car. If it is not shown in the pic I likely do not have it. 106,000 miles. Sold for $11,500 on January 29, 2018. Sold again for $10,500 on February 9, 2018. |
