Car history:
1968 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible. We are proud to offer this stunning 1968 Corvette 427/435 Covertible S/N 194678S423352. Finished in its original color of LeMans Blue over Medium Blue interior. This is a numbers matching car with a 427cid Tri-Power 435hp V8, Muncie M-21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission, and positraction rear end. This Corvette is a soft top-delete model with a matching body-colored hard top, power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, and AM/FM push button radio with power antenna. This car received a complete body off frame restoration by Joseph Rubenstein Restoration over an approximate 2 ½ year time period. The complete driveline was professionally rebuilt or replaced with new original parts. All numbers are matching and all parts have proper date codes and are period correct. All hardware was replaced with correct Chevrolet hardware and Cadmium plated nuts and bolts were required. All weather seals, window rubbers, and window sweeps were replaced. All rubber parts, hoses, belts, vacuum lines, etc. were replaced. All vacuum tanks and vacuum motors were replaced. All ball joints, bearings, rubber bushings, and seals were replaced with original parts. The steering assembly was rebuilt. The brake system (master cylinder, and all four rotors, calipers, and brake pads) were replaced with new parts. All brake lines (hard and flex lines) were upgraded to stainless steel. The gauges and switches were rebuilt and refinished. The original owner’s manual as well as the protect-o-plate, warranty documentation, and 1968 Corvette sales brochure are also included. Owner claims for a 427/435, but signs indicate this is a 427/390 or 400. However, motor stamp pad looks correct (6 to be veirified). 5,929 miles from the odometer. $67,991. January 24, 2012.
