| FIRST PLACE AWARD 3 YEARS IN A ROW at CLASSIC CAR SHOW! FEATURED IN SOUTHERN RIDES MAGAZINE AND NEWSPAPER. ONLY 6508 Convertibles were made in 1972. This car has a beautiful paint job and an awesome new deluxe leather interior. I bought the car in 1993 looking to do a restoration. I got it from a dealer as a car whose front clip[the front fiberglass section] was damaged beyond what the insurance company wanted to pay in 93. The cars were undervalued then and it didn't have classic car insurance to fix the car back to orignial specs. I have a clear title from Tennessee and it reads: "Rebuilt vehicle, anti-theft inspection PASSED". I worked on the car for 3 years with a friend that was a mechanic and then he moved. Then I moved. I had a professional paint the car and then moved it to my new location[tennessee] and found a mechanic that does restorations to finish the car in late 2005. It took a long time but you can see the results are worth it. The car has a FRAME OFF RESTORATION and has won FIRST PLACE at Classic Car Show show the last 3 years in a row. It has been kept in a garage with a dust cover and I have only put 655 miles on it since the restoration[I might put a few more on it with the nice weather]. It is a numbers matching car with a standard 350 engine with 200 horsepower and an automatic transmission. The car is painted a gorgeous Mille Miglia Red [code 973] to a smooth glass finish and a red leather [code 407] interior and a new white top [all new weatherstripping]. I added a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, shoulder harness, AM/FM cassette + CD player. I have the original radio and the original interior was saddle. 1972 Options: Air conditioning-changed to R34, Power Brakes, Turbo Hydra Matic Auto, Power Steering, Belts, Custom deluxe shoulder driver + passenger, Steering wheel, tilt-telescopic, AM-FM Stereo-I have it but AM/FM cassette+CD is currently in the car. The paint is BREATHTAKING as well as the interior-you can see from the reflections in the paint. All gauges are working, clean, and bright as the day it was made. The vacuum Headlights, Windshield wipers, and vacuum actuators work to perfection. We took everything we could find apart and cleaned, repaired, or replaced it all the way down to the seat frames-[I got pictures of them]. I have tons and tons of receipts [tens of thousands were spent] documenting everything from a rock solid POWDER COATED straight and true frame to a beautiful leather interior and paint. The Chrome and trim is new or redone-just look at the bumpers. The car runs and drives great with the motor being completely rebuilt. It also includes a trailer hitch that was never put on the car. I also have owners, assembly, and service manuals. The 1972 Corvette was the LAST to feature Front and Rear CHROME bumpers, Bright "Egg Crate" grills on the Front and Sides of the car. 101,859 miles. March 15, 2008. |
