Stunning 1968 Corvette Stingray Roadster that has had a freshly completed body-off frame restoration finished in Sliver Metallic with Black interior and factory 4 speed. It took over a year and was a labor of love to complete by a now retired expert Corvette restorer who swears this will be his last Corvette he'll do a total body-off restoration on. In the resto hundreds of man hours of painstaking details were done as he polished and handrubbed every nut and bolt on this Vette. It is a rare opportunity to own a 1968 Roadster restored to exellence by an old school Corvette master restorer. It has its original #'s matching 4spd, the original 12 Bolt Posi-rear, nearly everything mechanically has been rebuilt or replaced. This 1968 Corvette Roadster has been restored so that it can also be driven to shows and enjoyed. It is not over restored. The Details: This 1968 Corvette Roadster has been treated to a recently completed body-off frame restoration. The no-hit original fiber-glass body was completely stripped to bare glass and properly primed. The paint was then refinished to a gorgeous Silver metallic base/clear urethane with near perfect gaps and excellent panel fit on the entire body. In the process all the chrome (including new bumpers installed with the GM stickers still intact), trim, emblems were replaced with factory correct new OEM correct parts. The mint Rally steel wheels were refinished, new center caps and new expensive Red-line Firestone tires that give it that an awesome stock appearance. The interior is mint thru-out and completely gone thru. The carpets are new front and rear with insulation. Under the hood is the Nicely detailed 350 V-8. Detailed under the rear decklid with hand polished bolts. The Frame/chassis is immaculate, rock solid and never had any issues and was preserve treated during the restoration. The Mechanicals: The heart of this 1968 Corvette Roadster is its fully rebuilt to stock specs 72 Corvette 350 V-8 (cast # 8970010) engine with correct 4 barrel carb.with orig. points distributor with only break-in run time since completion. It is mated to its true #'s matching 4 speed transmission that has been gone thru. The rear is the correct 12 bolt posi-traction with factory gears. All mechanical systems have been gone thru and have been rebuilt or replaced where needed. The performance is legendary and will leave you breathless this Stingray runs awesome and is ready to enjoy. This is one the best driving, performing 1968 small block roadsters you will find and is a dream to drive.
