ATTENTION SERIOUS CORVETTE COLLECTORS AND museums! This is an amazing once in a lifetime find. A ONE OWNER original unrestored survivor 1972 Corvette Convertible with only 29,600 original miles being sold for the original owner, that I had the pleasure of meeting in person when we took this car in on consignment. She had gotten this car brand new as a graduation gift on 6/28/72 from Blair Chevrolet in Island Park NY and she has lovingly owned it ever since. This is an original car with its numbers matching drivetrain with only the typical tune up and maintenance items changed over the years. This car runs like new, drives like new and is a confident driver. This is a true collectors car and belongs in a museum or part of a Vette collection. You will never get the opportunity to buy another one like it again. What’s even more amazing is she held onto the original important documents from when it was new to authenticate this highly desirable Corvette.
Documentation: Original Protecto-Plate Original Sales Invoice Original Owners Manual Original Consumer Information Booklet Original Emissions Control Systems Booklet Original Lubrication Agreement Booklet Original Starting Procedure Original Warranty Envelope from Blair Chevrolet Original Castrol Oil New Car Owners Protection Plan Original 1972 Chevrolet Sports Car Buyers Guide Brochure Original Wheel Trim Ring Instruction Sheet Original Key Tag from Dealership Stock Original Sets of Ignition & Alarm keys on Original Medallions with Dealer's Name and Address
The frame and underside is original and nice. The body is in very nice original condition. It has no accident history and it no cracks in the fiberglass. The original paint shows well but does have some crazing under the finish from age. It has some minor paint chips, as you should expect for an unrestored car that is 39 years old. Nothing too bad and it still shows well. The chrome is original and in nice presentable condition. The convertible top is original. The rear window is cloudy.
The original black leather custom interior is in great shape. The seats themselves are probably the nicest unrestored leather seats from a Vette I have seen. They have almost no wear with the slightest patina. The door panels are near mint condition. The original carpet is in very nice shape. The dash is not cracked. The console and gauge faces are in great shape. The steering wheel is just about perfect. The original AM/FM Radio is still in place. She has ultra rare rear defroster. In the 11 years I have been with this company, I have NEVER seen a rear defroster on a C3 Corvette convertible. When new she even optioned the factory Car Lock Alarm. This is another feature that is rarely seen.
The numbers matching 350 engine runs super nice. It fires right up, idles smooth and quiet. The power is perfect with no hesitations when you hit the throttle. The 4- Speed Muncie shifts smooth. The suspension rides super nice. The front end is tight. This is by far the best driving 1972 Corvette we have ever had. If you ever wondered how a 72 Corvette drove from the factory, this is the car you need to own. The power steering works perfectly. She is also equipped with power disc brakes. The brakes were just rebuilt at a cost of $1,430 with new master cylinder, calipers and brake fluid flush. It stops on a dime. The wiper motor and alternator look to have been previously replaced. The period installed Uniroyal Tiger Paw 70 tires are in great shape. This car runs and drives excellent and is something you will have a ton of fun driving.
Overall this is a true Survivor collectors car that is still owned by its original owner, it has lots of original documentation, its numbers matching, it runs and drives excellent, and is something you will cherish for a long time. You do not get the opportunity to buy a 39 year old car from its original owner from new and that being a 72 Corvette Convertible, it doesn’t get better then this. DON’T PASS THIS ONE BY! We have a saying; “I should have bought it when I saw it” – Don’t let that be you!
