| Car history: |
1969 427 Corvette coupe that I purchased in order to build a vintage race car and have now decided I won't get to it so it's for sale. It's an original 427 390 horsepower car ordered with air, power steering and a 4 speed. The engine is not original, the engine number is CE 970863 which I'm told is usually a factory engine replaced under warranty. The car was bought from an estate in rural central Pa last year and is now in my shop in Collegeville Pa. The previous owner made some modifications apparently aiming at a race car setup. It has a single cross leaf spring front suspension, fender flares, some rear suspension mods, twin fuel tank pickups, a line lock system, fuel pressure gauge, side pipes, and headers. The body has been stripped of paint very nicely except for the flares and a few other small spots that are primered. The door shut lines are good and I haven't found any body cracks or big repairs to the exposed glass nor have I found any rust on the car. The engine has been started but only for a short time. I took several pictures of the parts that were removed, I think it's pretty complete. There are lots of bags labeled with nuts and bolts, along with some new trim bits. It's available to look at with a day's notice as the shop is an hour from home. Please email for my contact info and I will answer all questions that I can.
One quick note, I forgot to mention that the car was originally Cortez Silver. The door jamb plate: Trim Code is Z04, Paint Code is 986, Build Date is C28.
