1969 Corvette - Originally 427, A/C Car. I purchased this vehicle back in 07 to drive and have fun with. I was told by the previous owner that this was indeed a 427 car, but no longer has the originally motor or transmission. Currently there is a mid 70's 454 with a mild cam and correct aluminum intake and quadrajet carburetor. Car was one of the last 200 cars to be built in 1969. Some specifics about the car in regards to being a 427 car. Has the correct rear end for A/C, 390 HP car. 3:38 posi (only rearend you could get with A/C and a 427). Has the correct late 1969 black coolant overflow tank, only used on 390, 400 HP A/C cars. Correct core support. Correct radiator. Correct aluminum intake. Correct 1969 BB oil pan. Correct tach. Car runs good and is a lot of fun to drive. The car is not perfect and I would consider this just a driver. Engine / Drivetrain: Mid 70's 454 engine, mild cam (Have date correct 512 block), 1965 Corvette exhaust manifolds, aftermarket side exhaust, 4 Speed Manual trans- M21, 3:38 Posi traction rearend, New fuel tank, Power Steering, Power Brakes. Air Conditioning is all there, have never tried to pull a vacuum and charge. Brakes work fine and do not pull. Body: Paint is black with green metal flake. Front end does have two stress cracks around the passenger light (previous owner had a very light hit in the front), Stress crack on hood (air cleaner hit hood at one time), Several other areas have small cracks / blemish in paint, Body is straight and doors line up nice, Rear bumpers should be rechromed, small pitting, Front bumpers are nice, Floor area - all the glass is in good shape. Area around battery is cracked (still functional, but where the cable comes through is cracked). Interior: New carpet, leather seat covers, foam cushions and center console. Carpet is not all installed yet (have all pieces), New seat belts, Needs to be finished, Both power windows work, Original side glass, New rear glass with seal, Vacuum for headlights and wiper door all work (have new wiper door actuator which is not installed in the pictures). Door panels are driver quality. Frame: Frame is SOLID!!!! None of the usual corvette rust in front of the rear tires or rear of the frame. Overall great driver, but does need some work to be show quality. Drives great and motor runs strong, does not pull going down the road and the side exhaust (road exhaust) sounds great (not factory side exhaust car). Colors from the trim plate. Built date is Q17. 144,000 miles. July 20, 2009. |
