Car history:
Car was purchased from Lang Chevrolet in Fairborn OH on 2/28/1969 by Donald Alexczuk for $4,883.05. He was a GM employee and got the employee discount. He kept the car until somewhere around mid 1986. He kept hand written notes in a small reporters notebook with the maintenance records. The original owner added an L88 hood somewhere in the early 1970's including the air box. The car was sold to a neighbor who as a teenager had wanted that car since he first saw it. That teenager was now an adult and bought the car. (that's who I bought the car from) He drove the car for a few years a a daily driver then around 1994 he parked it and started a 5 year body off restoration. The Ohio winters created some rust along the frame behind the factory side pipes. Those rusted sections were replaced and the frame media blasted and repainted. The body was stripped down and repainted the stock LeMans Blue color. The engine was rebuilt along with the transmission, rear axle, front end and several other items on the car during the restoration. He did not replace the interior though. I bought the car from the second owner in Kentucky. The interior needed to be redone so I ordered the interior from Al Knoch. Since I had to remove the interior, I decided to replace the wiring harness before putting it all back together. I am in the process of that now for both the engine harness and the body harness. While I had it apart I added a tilt tele steering column and I added power brakes which it did not have from the factory. The first owner didnt order may options. 427/390, transistorized ignition, side exhaust and that's about it. $4900 was alot of money in 1969
