Car history:
2) 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LT-1. A real LT-1 Corvette for the enthusiast as well as the hobbyist. 350ci 330 HP been upgraded with roller rockers, headers, MSD electronic ignition and Hurst shifter. There's much to say about a car that has been regarded as the ONE to beat in the early days of emissions and underpowered vehicles. The Corvette stayed true to form as long as it could and did well with this beast. No wonder the true collectors know this and desire the fabled LT-1. Unique Hood compliments its overall no non-sense and mean business attitude and stance. Total Corvette production in 1971 was almost 22,000 units ! ONLY 1949 cars had the LT-1 Engine which only cost back then a mere $483. for the upgrade. Many of these in all levels of condition are extremely sought after. This one is ready to roll and be enjoyed for many years to come, not to mention you can sit back and watch your investment grow. $25,500 (RnM) on October 16, 2016.
1) What we have here is a very nicely appointed non numbers matching 1971 LT1 Corvette. The original motor was scattered on I-294 sometime in the 80s on the way back from Road America by the previous owner. He owned the car from 1981 until I purchased it in 2006. Since I have owned the car it has received the following upgrades: New Paint and interior. New emblems and door handles. New tires. New brakes with new calipers, pads, and lines. Rebuilt E-brake.
The motor was rebuilt by PER Performance in Joliet Illinois and has approximately 3,000 miles on it since being rebuilt. The rebuild includes, Marine block with 4 bolt mains, forged crank, rods, and pistons. An Edelbrock heads, cam, and intake combo advertised as a 430 horsepower package. Cam is around .525 lift with a nice lopey duration. Ignition is MSD Billet with a 6A box. Carb is a 650 Holley, square bore, double pump. Transmission is a standard unit M-21 close ratio with 3.70 gears in the rear. Hurst shifter. The car has aluminum coated headers and an exhaust that was built by a custom exhaust shop that tucks neatly against the floor. Flowmaster mufflers and stock tips complete it. The motor pic I posted doesn't do justice to the car. The motor can be viewed starting and running toward the end of the second video I posted which is a walk around of the car I posted for the previous owner. The car is a great driver and needs nothing. I've been driving it since it was rebuilt with no hiccups for the last 5 years in good weather only. It hasn't seen rain or snow for the time I've owned it. Always garage kept, under a cover in the winters. The car has T-tops and the back window pops out creating a truly satisfying driving experience. March 14, 2016.
