| 1972 corvette matching #s. This car was found in an old body shop in North MS. When I talked to the owner he said he bought it in high school back in 1986. He drove the car for about two years and decided to have the car refinished. He carried it to the body shop and made a deal. The body shop started sanding on the car, the owner lost interest in it and told them to stop work. The body shop stored the car in the back of the shop. In Feb. or March 2008 I bought the car from the owner. I put 4 tires on it a hauled it home. I called Yearone with the serial # . They said it was a 1972 corvette sunflower yellow, black int. 200 hp 350, 400 turbo auto, a/c power brakes manual windows. This car was disassambled for a paint job. The bumpers all fit good and are in good shape but need rechromed. Rocker moldings are in great shape. The grills are in poor shape but could be fixed and rechromed. All glasses are in good shape, the windsheild has a rock peck or two. The interior is all there but will need to be replaced, maybe not all of it you can make the call. The dash pad has cracks in the speaker holes, lower pads are in useable cond.? Speedometer is showing 068046 miles, both the speedo. and tack work and look great. Seats are both still in the car and complete with seat belts. The interior is the org. int. The body has some stress cracks at the normal places that these old vettes do. The worse place on the car is on the rear spoiler area, looks like the body shop ground out a stress crack and never fiberglassed it back. Tires are worn out. Wheeles are the org. 8" with caps and bands in fair shape. Underneith the car the body is solid no rust in the frame. There is a cross member that has a rusted hole in the corner under the radiator area, this un bolts with 4 bolts. The shocks look new, u joints, brake calipers (4) hoses (4) new master cyl. brake booster, I also replaced the rear diff. bushing. I rebuilt the carb. installed new fuel pump, tank, sending unit. The car will need new frame upper, lower bushings. New sway bar bushings too. Rear spring bushings. The car runs good, it has no rearend noise, trans. shifts good has good brakes. The car does have a small trans leak. All in all this car is a rare find, North Ms car. That has been sitting up for some 20 years. Colors from the trim plate. Built date is G11, March 10, 2009. |
