Car history: |
This car is a true barn find. A very wonderful gentleman had nearly completed the restoration before health issues prevented him from finishing the last few details. The car originally had factory a/c. The compressor is missing along with mounting brackets. The windshield washer is also missing parts. The spare tire mount is incomplete but I do have the covers. The headlights at low RPM's sometimes (when starting engine) cycle up only to drop back into their parked position moments later. (Vacuum adjustment?). Other than those minor issues the car is stunning. The paint is a beautiful deep finish with only a few flaws. The interior has new carpets and the seats show almost no wear. There are a few scratches on the plastic parts that make-up the counsel. This car runs and drives great. The engine is not original to the car. It appears to be a 350 /300hp. It sports Edelbock valve covers and carburetor. (I think) It runs strong and from the way it idles I think that it has a bigger cam than stock. The exhaust suggests that it may be running a little rich. I also think that I can hear an small exhaust leak. The 3 speed automatic transmission shift well and relatively smoothly. I'm not sure what it has for a rear end. Tires are in great shape with no cracking. The original hood has been replaced with a very nice aftermarket one and the rear deck also has been replaced with one that has a very sharp one with a spoiler. Forgot to say, NO RUST!! This car is not a pure matching numbers car. But if your looking for a pre 73, chrome bumper, head turning C3 this may be the one for you. I purchased the car thinking that I would keep it forever. Having to keep it in a carport and not having many chances to drive it I think the car deserves better. The car is located in central Florida and will be happy to have anyone interested in it to contact me to arrange to see it and test drive. Starts at $10,000 with reserve. June 11, 2015. |
