Car history:
You are looking at a beautiful, bright red, 1974 Corvette that has been in my family for 20 years. My brother bought the Vette in 1989 and I got it from his estate in 2004. The only reason I am selling it is I am going to have knee sugery and probably will not be able to get in it for a long time. I will sell it at auction and will consider trades as long as they are red and the top goes down. Possibly a 67 Nova if it is nice. NO JUNK. I do not want a project. Prefer a 65 or 70 Chevelle but will consider any that is easy to get in and out. The car is for sale local and I may end the auction early. Now for the car. In the last 3 years we have replaced the top, complete exhaust with stainless steel mufflers, brake calipers, master cylinder, bumpers, tail lights, some mouldings, power steering pump, interior was replaced in 04. I put a 355 engine with a very mild cam, just enough to make it sound good and still be very driveable, used the stock intake and all to make it appear right. I still have the correct long block and will let it go with the buy it now. I also have all of the original distributor and plug wire chrome that goes with it. The aftermarket ALUMINUM radiator is less than 2 years old. Never had an overheating problem but the original started leaking. The hard top was painted the same time as the car, two years ago, and has NEVER been on. They usually leave marks and I didn't want that. It is wrapped up and has been in storage. The car really is bright red and not orange as the pictures look. This is a very dependable driver and has been on several trips over 1000 miles. Now for the few small things that it needs. The fuel guage, sometimes when you fill it up it does not go to full until you drive it a few miles. Volt meter does not work. We put a new quartz clock in it and it worked about a year. Drivers window needs adjusted. If you are in the car and roll it up it is fine. If you roll it up and shut the door it will touch the pillar. The passenger window has a small chip at the top. We had a new AC compressor put on and converted two years ago. Last year on the way to Canada it locked up so I guess it would need replaced. The things that need fixed are minor compared to the quality and dependability of the rest of the car.
