1969 Corvette coupe with the infamous 427 cubic inch, 390 HP engine. This is a numbers matching engine although the pad has been partially decked when machined (see pics). The letters LM are visible in the suffix signifying a 427/390 HP and the numbers 585 which are the last 3 numbers in the VIN are also visible in the prefix. We’re not trying to pass this off as an all numbers matching car due to some upgrades that this Corvette has received, such as a 5 speed Tremec transmission and upgrades to the engine when it was rebuilt, but I do believe the engine is original to the car. The 5 speed Tremec is a welcome upgrade when you hit the highway in this big block Corvette. This car has a super sound flowing out of the new exhaust system (see video). This car also comes with its original M-21 4 speed transmission that has been rebuilt and gone through and has not been used since. Hurst Competition Shifter and all related hardware. Also included is a L-88 Corvette hood with the cold air box that has been restored and painted Can Am White. This car is a older frame off restoration and has only had 12k miles on it since restored. The present owner has had the car for 20 years. This car shows like a #2 condition restored car topside and bottom. The paint is the original code 972 Can Am White and the body is flawless with attention to the gaps and lines, which are near perfect. The T-tops are in excellent condition and have never leaked. The interior is the standard black and has had new seat covers, the rest is original and in very nice condition. All lights, turn signals and windshield wipers work as they should. The fiber optics are not working. The 427/390 HP engine is super fresh with only 6500 miles on it since a complete overhaul in which we have paperwork and receipts on. The suspension received all new parts when restored. All new complete brake parts, lines, calipers all hardware. New springs in the front and new rear spring, shocks, complete front end, trailing arms etc. Engine: 427/390 HP completely rebuilt by a professional race shop. (Lou’s Performance Akron, Ohio), .60 over, TRW Forged pistons, Crank and rods inspected, Cloyes Double Roller timing chain & gear, Comp Cam 556 lift, Oval port cast iron cylinder heads, Manley race valves, heads done by Summit Racing Engine Shop, all receipts for engine work, Edelbrock Quadrajet carb, MSD Ignition with tach drive, Original intake with Winters snowflake. Exhaust: Headman ceramic headers, 2 1/2" exhaust, Walker Super Turbo mufflers. Rear end: Completely rebuilt with 3:55 gear. Transmission: 5 speed Tremec. Suspension: Completely rebuilt all new parts. Interior: New seat covers, the rest is original. Excellent dash, all gauges work as they should, door panels, carpet, glass are all nice. Removable rear window, T-tops are in excellent condition. (no leaks ever) power windows, power steering. Exterior: Can Am White in excellent condition and very little road use since done. All fiberglass is nice, no cracks, spidering. Turn-key ready. 69,447 miles from the odometer. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is B03. September 23, 2009. |
