I am listing this 1981 Corvette for a friend who has owned the car for about 3 years, but the history is known on the car back to the original owner. It is as original as you will find with only 43,105 actual miles. Has been garage kept since new here in Tn, and previously in Ala. Believed to be the original paint and interior, and both while not mint, are in my opinion in excellent shape with only minor wear to both. Car is after all 31 years old! I examined the body closely and did not see any cracks or dents on the body, only minor scuffs and minor paint loss. I tried to picture anything I thought might show that. Car has the 350 engine with automatic transmission, T-tops, leather interior in very good shape, working A/C, P/W, P/seats, Tilt telescoping steering wheel and Goodyear Eagle GT II tires and Corvette wheels. Has the side pipes with the plastic protective covers. Has the mounting hardware to attach the T-tops to the rear of the car, everything included for that. Also has the original paperwork with the car as well as the shop manual. Car runs and drives excellent. Low miles attributed to what the previous owners thought was a fuel pump carburetor issue, and in reality was a vapor lock issue. Found that gasoline with ethanol begins to vaporize at 92 degrees and so a low pressure electric fuel pump was installed recently at the fuel tank to augment the mechanical fuel pump at the engine, and to keep the fuel supply line from the tank under positive pressure. Vapor lock has not occurred since the pump was installed. Obviously the car has not been driven a lot, but is taken out almost weekly for short rides. If you are in the market for a nice American classic Corvette with low miles in original condition to cruise in and enjoy, this is one for you to consider. Any known issue with the car are as follows. The telescoping steering wheel sometimes has to be played with to get it to lock in place. The rubber on the T-tops needs replaced (pictured). Tires while not new show very little wear and no dry rot at all. The check engine light comes on when first started, but goes off after 10 minutes of driving, believe it may need an oxygen sensor.. Really the only things pointed out to me. Questions welcomed and encouraged. If you are serious I can and will put you in touch with the owner.
