| Car history: |
01/27/2014 Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this gorgeous 1972 Corvette in excellent condition loaded with options such as A/C, which actually blows cold, power steering, power brakes, power windows, automatic transmission, and T- tops with the pop-out rear window. This car looks great, runs great, and is an awesome driver.
It gets a ton of attention going down the road and turns heads everywhere it goes. The low mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as Actual.
While the last six digits of the VIN are not stamped on the engine pad, it is stamped with CE and a sequence number. A CE block usually stands for Counter Exchange, Chevrolet Engine, or Created Engine. Basically, a CE engine is a replacement engine that came from a Chevrolet dealer. We do not have documentation as to when this CE block was installed in this Corvette, but most often the CE blocks were installed as warranty replacements when the car was new. There is a photo of the engine pad below for any perspective buyer to make his or her own judgments. The engine block does have a 3790010 casting number, which was used in Corvettes from 1969 through 1979.
The 1972 Corvette was truly the end of an era. 1972 was the last year to feature chrome bumpers and and egg crate grill, it is considered to be the last year of truly classic Corvettes. Years after were more at the mercy of insurance companies, fuel prices, and emission concerns, 1972 is considered the last highly desirable year. It was also the last year to feature a pop out rear window, and the first year to reflect the change in the way horsepower was rated, from gross to the more accurate net. As in investment, the 1972 will always have an advantage and out perform other years because of its precedence as the end of a a very great period for Corvette and muscle cars as a whole. |
