Car history:
This is a very correct late ’71 Corvette. I spent two years researching and
restoring the chassis and mechanical operations of this car. Having a nice
unmolested car to start with made the job easier. Car has had a complete body
off, nut and bolt, mechanical and chassis restoration 300 miles ago.

If a component could be restored and reused, it was. I am not a big fan of
reproduction parts and I think that can be seen in the details of this car including
every chassis bolt being refinished. My goal was to have this car NCRS judged. It
should do very well. This steel bumper collectable still has the original paint and
interior. If you are looking for a detailed, correct matching numbers corvette for
shows, take a look at the video links below showing more photos and information.

Major mechanical components: Differential, T-Arms, A-Arms, Spindles and
Steering box were redone by Bair’s Corvette. The Engine and Transmission were
redone by a professional Corvette shop that specializes in restorations. The
engine pad has not been surfaced and still has the original broach marks.

The documentation paperwork is in great condition, although the tank sticker is
faded. The paint on this car is the original lacquer factory applied paint. It is 40
years old and shows chips and wear. The engine compartment and firewall were
painted prior to mating the body back to the chassis. This car has it's original
spare tire with the rubber noodles still intact. The AC system has been gone
through but has not been charged. The rotors and ball joints are riveted. Brake
and fuel lines are new. The factory applied air cleaner (side), emissions and AC
compressor labels are still intact. There are new M&H electrical and fiber optic
harnesses installed. Bumpers have been re-chromed. The car has a new set of
BFG Tires on it versus the tires in the first photo. The driver's seat does show
some wear on the outboard edge on the seat back.

Known mechanical issues: There is a whine under deceleration in 2nd gear
coming from the transmission. The clock does not work. The CEC system is
present and functional but is disconnected and bypassed.

Included with the sale are a new Dash Harness, Assembly Instruction Manual,
Chassis Service Manual, NCRS Technical Manual and Judging Guide, P02 wheel
covers, T-Top bags, car documentation and receipts.

Enjoy it the way it is or finish it off by restoring the body and interior to have a
show stopper. I see a lot of cars for sale with newer paint and they look great but
fall short when you look underneath or pop the hood. The good news is that the
greasy and dirty part of this restoration has been done and it is up to you to
choose whether to repaint it or keep it’s originality. It was very well photo
documented during the restoration. Other photos of the chassis can be seen on
the Gardner Exhaust website at http://gardnerexhaust.com/1970-corvette-exhaust-system.html .

If you have more questions or need a specific part number just let me know. Car
is sold "as is" and is also for sale locally. Reserve is several thousand lower than
the buy it now price. Non-smoker. Call: 805-492-5691 pacific time zone.
