The Chevrolet Corvette is instantly recognizable by the marque aficionado and non-aficionado alike.
The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in
1953 as a concept show car. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette,
today, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The third-generation Corvette, the C3, was
designed along the lines of the Mako Shark II concept car and was introduced for the 1968 model
year continuing in production until 1982. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over
from the C2 but the body and interior were all new. The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette replaced the four
side gills with an egg-crate vents on the side. The fenders were flared slightly to keep rocks from
being kicked up and scratching the paint. The seats were redesigned again, this time to create more
headroom.

This rare chrome-bumper C3 Roadster is fitted with a tuned Stroker 383 engine married to a manual
gearbox. Stroker increased the cubic capacity by fitting a modified crankshaft increasing the piston
stroke from 3.48 inches to 3.75 inches giving the engine more power, other modifications include a
machined Edelbrock performance inlet manifold. It is believed that this car was imported to the UK
in the late 1990's and at that time it underwent a cosmetic restoration but it was not registered until
2004. In good condition throughout, the car drives very well although would benefit from being
repainted again, finished in yellow with a black roof and black interior, it is supplied with a V5C
registration document, MoT test certificate and a file containing several invoice's from around the
early 2000's. This Corvette represents a superb opportunity to acquire one of America's iconic sportscars.
