| Car history: |
2) From the body lines chrome bumpers on the front and rear stunning Purple paint and a chameleon tail stripe make this Corvette a real eye catcher. Ready to show and go with the numbers matching 350 CID V8 under the hood backed by the original 4 speed manual transmission. 7067 miles since the restoration was completed mean this car has a lot of life left to give. It will give the next owner years of enjoyment! The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette replaced the 4 side gills with an egg-crate vents on the side. The fenders were flared slightly to keep rocks from being kicked up and scratching the paint. The seats were redesigned again this time to create more headroom. 1970 enlarged the Big Block (known as the Rat motor) to its largest displacement at 454 ci. The new option LT1 small block produced 370 bhp. The 350 engine was much lighter than the 454 and provided almost as much power as the lower end Big Blocks. The RPO ZR1 option included the LT1 engine M22 (Rock Crusher) transmission heavy-duty power brakes transistor ignition special aluminum radiator and special springs shocks front and rear stabilizer bars and metal fan shrouds. The relatively low production in 1970 was caused by a labor dispute that started in May of 1969. This dispute caused the 1969 production run to be stretched 4 months and the 1970 run to be cut short. Tuxedo Black was no longer available as an exterior color although there were probably a few cars that were painted black as special orders. 6648 Corvette Convertibles were built in 1970 making this a fairly rare car right from the beginning. With the manual transmission the compression ratio went from 10.5:1 up to 11:1 and was rated at 300 horsepower. BiN $22,995. April 5, 2016. 1) Finished in Purple Metallic with Purpleen Accents. Besides this $6500 paint job, car was completely restored being in excellent condition in and out. It features a NOM 69 Corvette motor, rebuilt with compression, performance cam shaft, coupled with a close ration 4-speed transmission and a 3.73 rear end. Engine breathes in through a Edelbrock Performer intake 2101, Holley 650 CFM, double pumper carburetor, K&N air filter and breathes out through Hooker headers Aluma coated. Sparks come from a MSD ignition type 6AL with the appropriate wires and distributor. Engine is fitted with Cal Custom finned aircooled cast aluminum oil pan. Vacuum lines were rebuilt and headlights and wiper door works as it should. Car is equipped with Power Steering and Power Brakes, also with Vintage AC masterfully installed in the engine compartment with the dash switch masquerading as a the cigarette lighter. The interior is a luxurious Al Knock leather, with the matching deluxe door panels. console, arm rest, carpet, leather seat covers... all practically brand new. The convertible top is new as well and fits perfect. Radio is a vintage look-alike, also with the necessary I-pod connector. Body is in excellent condition with a very high quality paint in Metallic Purple with Purpleen accents on the rear end and on the hood. Purpleen is a special paint by Chromalusion which changes its color depending on the viewing angle and light from Green to Yellow, to Purple and everything in between. It has a Big Block hood apparently original, not reproduction. Chrome is all new, as well as emblems. Frame is perfectly detailed with rebuilt suspension, both upper and lower, new bushings, new brakes and brake lines, new Gabriel gas charged shocks... It also features new Flowmaster exhaust with a great rumble. Rides on a special set of Weld Wire spoke wheels, well chromed. All in all, a very well done, mild custom Corvette with great appeal which will certainly win shows and give you lots of thumbs up when riding around. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is F19. August 1, 2010. |
