Car history:
1969 Corvette T-Top Coupe, 72.5K orig. miles L46 350/350HP. Complete frame-on restoration, like new with all orig. parts restored or replaced with NOS parts where possible. >$42k invested. L46 350/350 HP engine(with custom engine rebuild HP is now actually approx 380). Factory options: orig., numbers matching THM400 auto trans., 3.08 posi, orig. AM/FM Delco pushbutton radio, shoulder belts and headrests.
History and background: Car was built in St. Louis, MO and rolled off the assembly line on Dec. 9, 1968, so it is an early model ’69. It has always been a Cali car, so no rust anywhere. Car was bought in 1977, started to restore it and never finished the project. It sat in his garage in Pomona, CA for 18 years and It was bought from an estate in Feb 1995. Builder spent in excess of $42K and 10 years restoring to like new orig. condition, except for the paint color, ride height, and aforementioned additional horsepower. I have all parts/restoration receipts and a ledger showing when purchased and from whom. This car is absolutely beautiful and everything on it works as good as new.
Engine: Block #V07-02F3198745866, 3970010 GM3. Completely balanced and blueprinted by a race shop. Bored .030 over with new 350/350 cam, all bearings, pistons, rings, connecting rods, Cloyes timing chain and gears, pushrods, lifters, main seals, brass freeze plugs, harmonic balancer, h/d flywheel, hi-capacity oil pump with welded pickup, and windage tray. Heads: #398993 camel hump 2.02 heads, ported, polished and gasket matched with screw-in studs, Manley pushrod guides and Teflon valve seals. Exhaust and intake manifolds are date correct and no corrosion with orig. Rochester Quadrajet carb rebuilt to cam specs by The Carb Shop in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with correct linkage, air cleaner, filters, choke assy., a/c idle solenoid, etc. Distributor and alternator rebuilt with new parts and plug wires. All new 2-1/2” aluminized exhaust system with new chrome bezels and tips. Radiator is correct orig., professionally rebuilt with a double core, so it never comes close to overheating! A/C system has been completely restored front to back – all ducting, seals, vacuum actuators, outlets, fan, switches and controls have been restored or replaced with OE parts. Compressor, condenser, drier bottle, POA and expansion valve, heater core, evaporator and hoses have all been replaced or restored to new condition by Classic Auto Air in Tampa, FL. A/C system has been recalibrated and converted to R-134A and works perfectly!
Transmission professionally rebuilt with all new syncros, bearings and shift kit. 3:08 posi rearend professionally restored with preloaded posi and new Spicer u-joints with zerk fittings on both half-shafts and drive shaft. Headlight and wiper vacuum systems and orig. horns all rebuilt and work perfectly. Front suspension components restored and black powder-coated with new bushings. Overall ride height has been dropped 2” with custom built front springs and a Vette Brakes anti-bump steer kit for smooth, responsive steering geometry. Steering box professionally rebuilt, power steering system completely restored. Brakes new with sleeved calipers, wheel bearings, restored orig. booster and new master cylinder. Parking brake system restored and adjusted. Stock rally wheels with OE caps and rings and Goodyear Eagle VR Gatorback unidirectional all-weather racing tires P22560/VR15. New tinted windshield. New Diehard Gold battery, correct original date-coded jack, new spare tire with correct case and lock. Gas tank restored and coated inside and out with new mounting gaskets. No gas tank sticker found.
Paint and interior: Custom midnight blue pearl acrylic lacquer. Car was stripped, gel coated, primed and all door and hood gaps perfected. All exterior bumpers and trim has been restored or replaced with OE parts, including chrome louver inserts. Absolutely gorgeous factory interior has been converted to black (was bright blue). New carpet, rocker panels, door panels, etc. All interior trim panels have been restored or replaced with OE. Rear deck carpet and compartments are completely restored. Seat belts, shoulder belts and retractors are factory orig. and work like new. All weather stripping and seals have been replaced with new. New black all-leather seats with new foam, backs, replated runners and restored factory hardware. All gauges, instruments, clock, console, AM/FM Delco pushbutton radio, speakers and fibre optic panels have been replaced or restored to new condition and work perfectly. Factory orig. snap-type t-top bags and all orig. instruction sheets and stickers for tire pressure, ignition lock, posi rearend, trim rings and original (not repro) owners manual. GM factory assembly manual and 2 original service manuals included. Recently appraised at $35,000.00... Colors from the owner. 72,500 miles. March 11, 2008.
