Car history:
2) This 1970 Corvette convertible has had a frame on complete older restoration that still looks great with over 45,000.00 spent on the restoration alone. It is powered by a 454 LS6 completely rebuilt using all new GM parts with less than 4,000 miles on it. It was bored 30 over and has LS6/LS7 forged balancer, rods, and pistons, cast iron open chamber rectangular intake port LS6/LS7 heads, GM center force dual friction high performance flat tappet cam, matching springs and lifters and new GM carburetor. Has 474 HP and runs like new. Transmission is a completely rebuilt Muncie 4 speed M21 with 26 spline input shaft. Rear end has 411 matched gears with HD clutches, forged side yokes and adjustable strut rods. The powertrain is matched to a chambered exhaust that sounds great. This car was stripped to bare fiberglass revealing a no hit body and painted a bright teal metalic. All new Al Kock covertible top, seats and rugs were installed. Later model polished wheels, all new suspension and mounts were put on a nice clean frame. The wipers and headlights both work great. The speedometer works good but the odometer stopped working last year. Car has dual electric fans and runs cool all the time. Everything else works as it should. Car rides like new with no rattles. Paint has a few imperfections but still looks great. Car also comes with matching hardtop. 88,821 miles. Ended at $ 22,800 (RnM) on MAy 15, 2016. Ended at $22,766 on July 1, 2016.
1) 1970 Corvette Convertible. Solid frame. Complete body on restoration. Was Marlboro Maroon. Stripped to bare glass and sprayed with PPG base coat/clear coat. No evidence of any damage after paint was removed. Color is Bright Teal Metallic Code 38/WA 9828. Paint is still in great condition. There is a 7/8 bubble in the paint on the passenger's door and two almost invisible hairline cracks on the top of the driver's side front fender as shown in the photos. There are more than 70 photos posted on Shutterfly. When the body was being prepped for paint the old paint was stripped to bare fiberglass revealing a no hit body with perfect panel spacing. The body was block sanded and filled several times to remove any minor imperfections in the body prior to painting. The chrome bumpers were re-plated The door handles, license plate frames, hood and gas door emblems, and rocker moldings, were replaced with new GM parts. The GM aluminum wheels were professionally restored and polished. All new GM weather stripping was installed. Al Knock top, carpet and seat covers were professionally installed in the original medium saddle color. Tilt & Tele steering wheel. All vacuum operated systems work correctly, including the headlights and windshield wiper door. The engine is a built LS6. It is a 2 bolt main block bored 0.030 over size. The engine was built using only NOS Chevrolet LS6/LS7 parts, including LS6/LS7 forged steel crank., GM 8 Fluidampr harmonic balancer, LS6/LS7 forged rods and pistons, cast iron open chamber rectangular intake port LS6/LS7 heads, LS7 pan and windage tray, GM Centerforce dual friction clutch and 10.4 flywheel. Camshaft is a high performance hydraulic flat tappet cam (GM Part #14096209), matching springs, GM lifters, premium 7/16 pushrods and guide plates, and GM needle roller rocker arms with 1.7 to 1 ratio. Intake is an aluminum 1970-71 LS6 and carburetor is correct for a 1971 LS6. The carb was brand new in the GM box when I bought it. All internal parts in this engine were ordered from the 1992 GM Performance Parts Catalog. Chambered exhaust. Transmission is a Muncie M21 with a 26 spline input shaft. It was gone through by Larry Fisher of D&L Transmissions and works flawlessly. Rear end has 4.11 GM matched gears, HD clutches, forged side yokes and adjustable strut rods. This Corvette is a strong running car that will sit you back in the seat in any gear. It drives and handles like new. No expense was spared putting this car together. I have over $45,000 into the vehicle. My reserve is half of that. I have had my fun with this beautiful car for over twenty yeas. Now you can enjoy it. Car is in Lincoln, RI. 88,810 miles. $22,950. July 9, 2014.
