Car history: |
Posted 05/20/2017 This is a non-running project car. The odometer reading is 19,096 on a 5 digit odometer, so I suspect that the car has 119,096 miles on it. I bought this car on Ebay 8 or 9 years ago as a restoration project. It was located in West Texas when I bought it. I have had it garaged ever since. I am cleaning out my storage unit, so I decided to sell this car. If I had a place to store it, I would keep it. I love the C-3 design. I rebuilt the Chevy 350 engine 8 years ago with new pistons, connecting rods, cam and the block and heads were completely machined at a professional shop. This motor was rebuilt for normal driving. It is not hot rodded. It should make a strong running motor. Life got in the way before I finished the project. Even though the engine was lubricated during the rebuild, I recommend that the new owner lubricate the cylinders and spin the oil pump with a drill before starting it up. The car came without the original Cross-Fire fuel injection. I rebuilt a 4 barrel carb and installed on the car. If you decide to use the carb, you will need to sort out ignition. I also have a newer-model used Corvette fuel injection system with matching computer that comes with the sale if you prefer to install that. I stopped working on the project when it was time to crawl under the car. Therefore, I did not finish bolting all the bolts from the engine to the transmission. The starter needs to be installed. Most everything else is done. This is a project, so expect to have to do some work to finish it. The big work and expense is done with the rebuilt engine already in the car. It needs paint and new carpet. The streaks seen on the hood are just water from washing the car. The body between the headlights needs some body work. The gap where the hood meets the body just needs adjusting. I removed the hood to rebuild the engine. The seats are in good condition. The armrests are in the car, but not installed. One will need to be painted to match. The drivers window is out, but I have replacement glass for it. The Targa tops are aftermarket, and should be replaced. The front windshield is cracked below the direct line of sight. The shifter bezel should be replaced. Parts are easy to find at the salvage yard. The tires were new 8 or 9 years ago. You can see the writing on the tires. I have a new plastic cover for the dashboard, which is not installed. This will make a great car with its rebuilt engine.
I do not want to sell this car, but it makes no sense for me to continue paying storage on it. I already have another C-3, so I am sadly letting this one go. |
