Throw-out bearing
Since this job started due to the fact that the fitted throw out bearing was making grinding noises I was happy I was now able to fit in a beautifully new bearing...

Re-assembling
Once the new clutch disc and pressure group was fitter the bell housing could be place back. Using the clutch positioning tool provided with the set the disc could be positioned perfectly in the middle so the transmission should slide in seamlessly...

Replaced isolation
Since the original transmission tunnel isolation was in bad condition I decided to change it for a repro replacement. The repro isolation is not as long as the original fitted version. Later in the '69 production year appearantly it was shortened and a foam collar was added between the floor pan and the bell housing to block air flow through the tunnel (which appearantly solved the problem of heat in the cockpit better...

Engine lift bracket
Some people asked me in the past if I could take a picture of the engine lift bracket but so far I was unable to make this shot. Now the tranny and bellhousing is removed it can easily been pictured.

Replacing throw out bearing
When pressing the clutch paddle a grinding sound coming from the tranny section. Sander told me this must be the throw-out bearing. Since I want to take this car again to LeMans this year (in June) I decided I need to get this bearing replaced ASAP! So the exhausts were removed (which will be featured with MagnaFlow mufflers instead to improve sound), the drive shaft and shifting stick and rods were removed and cleaned and the tranny unmounted. While I've got this far (which went really easy to my surprise) I decided to replace the complete pressure group to ensure a trouble free road tour.
