Car history:
This beautiful '68 Vette comes loaded with a 350 CID and a rare 4-speed manual transmission, showing only 15,000 miles since the rebuild. Painted yellow over what appears to be fresh black vinyl seat covers, this is a driver quality car that you can start showing or driving right away. The chrome and bright work are in excellent condition, which is always appreciated by today's car collectors. Thought to be somewhat controversial, the 68 Corvette production set a new record, recovering from the 67's lost sales - and then some. With this year's model, both the roof panels and the back glass could be removed, providing, what Chevrolet advertised called a very open-air feeling. That feeling is indeed alive today. If you've never-before cruised down the highway in 3rd generation Vette with the t-tops and rear glass removed, you're in for a treat. One feature never lacking on Corvettes was full instrumentation and stowage wells that help to compensate for the tiny trunk space. The fender slots allow engine heat to escape, which was an earlier problem with the midyears, and the regular door handles were deleted in favor of the pushbuttons and depression plates. This one was born on April 30th in 1968 in St. Louis. Over the years this one was updated with newer equipment which includes an AM/FM radio with a Kenwood cassette player, a quality repaint & mechanical overhaul, as well as fresh rubber in the 245/60-15 BF Goodrich TA radials that really set this car off. If you are a good looking, a reliable, a freshly re-built power train and showstopper, an all-chrome bumper - Vette, this is definitely one for you to consider. If you are looking for a fun car that will also prove to be a time-tested investment, there are few better places to invest your money than a Corvette. Where else can you get this much classic American iron for this little money? Again, if you've never blasted down a backcountry road in an open-air Corvette before, you don't know what you are missing. $19,995. Color codes from the trim pate. Built date is I30. 96,169 from the odometer. March 15, 2012.
