At the buyers option, I will consider selling without the 3X2 intake assembly.
I know the man/shop who did the frame, completely rebuilt the motor & transmission. Watch videos & hear it run.
The previous owner is an accountant, he kept a very neat file with all of the receipts stapled and totaled with an adding machine. He spent $36,000 on this car.
I have personally, spoken to 2 previous owners back to 1995, they confirm it is a real L-68, Automatic car, with original motor.
Using all the above as well as my own research, my description below... •Very early 1968 194678S402804 •This car was done complete "frame off" & painted in 2000. Then stored under a carport, untouched, until now. •The majority of the work was done in 1997 with zero miles since the work was done •This is a real car with original, born with engine. •No Restamp! •3916321 Block dated I.2.7 •3917215 heads dated F.30.7 (both) •3937795 intake •Exhaust manifolds #3880827 & 3880828 •Big Block Rear differential AW(3.08:1), 335(day), E(eaton), 1(1st shift) AW 335 E 1 •Rear sway bar •3 New Holley carbs Front & Rear) #3902353-EU / 3659 / 3006 Center) 3902355 / 3660 / 1254 •Correct GM 3X2 air cleaner with instructions silk screened on the back... and still legible. •Completely rebuilt motor by a professional, High Performance Machine Shop in business for 30 years. •Balanced & blueprinted, with new TRW 10.25:1, forged pistons +.030 •Stainless valves. •Competition Cams Roller Rockers. •Completely rebuilt TH400 with new converter. •New ball joints, bushings and tie rod ends, idler arm etc... GM and Moog parts •New PS cylinder, control valve and rubber hoses CSSB •Stainless calipers from CSSB •Van Steel, rebuilt Rear control arms with SS alignment shims. •Front wheel bearings. •all U joints •Stainless brake and fuel lines. •The frame was sandblasted and painted with epoxy paint. •Frame is in excellent condition with no pitting, no rust, no repairs. •Windshield frame is in good condition. •Complete Convertible top frame is included. •Early 68 seats with low lock lever •New exhaust •All 3 wiring harness/fiber optic harness are new. •New Mallory Unilite, tach drive, distributor •NOS GM fan shroud •NOS GM radiator •Correct 1968 15x7 wheels •Boxes of parts •The paint is the correct color and is in very good condition... having a few minor nicks and scratches •Clean title in hand. •Title reads 55,389 ACTUAL miles •Eckler's L88 hood
After being in storage for years, I performed the following before starting the engine:
1.I pulled the valve covers & oiled the rocker arms. 2.Pulled 8 plugs and sprayed the cylinders liberally with JB80 lubricant and allowed it to "sit" 3.Rebuilt 3 carbs 4.Pulled distributor and primed oil pump / system with a electric drill. 5.Changed the oil & added Marvel Mystery Oil 6.Used a hanging "IV" style gas bottle. 7.The 427 engine started right up and immediately began running on "all 8"
The engine starts right up and runs beautifully, as it should.... no noise, no leaks, no smoke. Idles and accelerates perfectly.
Alot of time and money was spent on this car. Due to sitting under a carport... Unfortunately, most of the parts that are unpainted or cad plated have rusted. This is a cosmetic defect and will require some attention.
All of the trim and interior has been removed from the car. Most parts are included in boxes.
I only have the parts in the pictures... except for many small miscellaneous items in the boxes.
This is the perfect project / opportunity for some one to get into a REAL 427, tri power, Convertible, Vette for an affordable price.
Please look at the pictures and ask any questions through eBay.
Check my feedback and buy with confidence.
I make every effort to give a true and accurate description... That being said, I may have missed something. Please ask any and all questions before you decide to bid.
