I have restored this car all by myself, except for the motor machine work. This was a on the frame restore. The only thing I have not restored is the rear end, it has no issues. Everything works as it should except for the clock and the mileage/ trip indicator. All is new or restored original parts. Original hard top ! Motor - 427 - L89 - 435 HP - TRI-POWER numbers / date correct / CE BLOCK. TRANS- original numbers correct 4 - speed, Differential - original 336 posi - big-block. I took the aluminum heads off shortly after rebuild, for it would not run on 93 octane, so I put chevy performance aluminum heads with open chamber heads. Original heads go with car. The wheels / trim rings are even original and numbers correct. I put a Dewitt aluminum radiator that looks original, Wilwood aftermarket brake calipers, aluminum Edelbrock water pump. Car runs COOL. Car has NO options, no power brakes , steering & so on . ordered to go fast ! I was not planning on selling this car, so I DID NOT take any short cuts. I have pictures of the restoration. BiN $58,000 (Ended) on January 12, 2018. 1) ALL ORIGINAL 1968 CORVETTE ROADSTER 427 C.I/390 HORSEPOWER. THIS CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT THE BLOCK. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL DATE CODE 427 BLOCK ON HAND AS IT CAME WITH THE CAR. THIS CORVETTE RUNS VERY WELL AND HAS NO MECHANICAL ISSUE. THERE ARE SMALL ISSUES WITH THE INTERIOR. A FEW SMALL RIPS. THE HORN BUTTON IS OFF, BUT IT IS ALL THERE, IN GREAT CONDITION, AND EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. THE PAINT HAS A FEW BLEMISHES BUT FROM 5 FEET AWAY, SHE'S REALLY NICE. NOW FOR THE FACTS ON THE CAR: I'M THE SECOND OWNER AND I HAVE THE TITLE. AS FOR THE BUILD I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH: THIS IS A 1968 CORVETTE ROADSTER, MODEL M20, TRIM PACKAGE NUMBER 425, ORANGE VINYL. LOOKS TAN TO ME. THE PAINT CODE IS 992, CORVETTE BRONZE. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PAINT AND IT'S IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH THE ORIGINAL 427 CUBIC INCH MOTOR WITH 390 HORSEPOWER. IT ALSO HAS THE CLOSE RATIO 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANS AND THE FACTORY RALLY RIMS WITH THE TRIM RIM RINGS AND CENTER CAPS. COMES WITH THE HARD TOP, THE ORIGINAL BLOCK WHICH IS GOOD.
