Car history:
2) 1969 Corvette Coupe, L88 with heavy duty 4 speed numbers matching restoration motor. Lemans Blue paint with Black interior. Body-on restored with much of the recent suspension, brake and mechanicals done by L88 expert Kevin Mackay/Corvette Repair of New York. Dynoed at well over 500 hp and runs very strong. Factory radio delete car optioned with aluminum heads, GM supplied header side exhaust (PT #3960709/710), power brakes, headrests, transistorized ignition, M-22, 4.56 posi, J-56 heavy duty brakes, F-41 special heavy duty suspension, SS brakes, A.I.R., side louver trim, tinted glass, rallys, and red stripe tires. Most all factory correct type components including the jack, jack tools, seat belts, washer system, smog system, shifter, air cleaner, radiator, 312A job number on bulk head, owners manual, and sales brochure. Documented with the warranty pamphlet/P.O.P., owners history which includes the original owners name, address, and phone number, title search which includes owners as far west at Anchorage, Alaska. The owner history and relative parties reads like the who's who of the Corvette hobby. Delivered new in Chenoa, Illinois. Looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:2 $205,000.00. Color codes from the trim plate. 44040 miles from the odometer. Motor suffix code is T1024IT. May 12, 2011.
1) This is an authentic LeMans Blue L-88 Coupe with a restoration motor. I have owned the car about 8 years. I have the Protect-O-Plate and the Chain of Ownership. I spoke to the original owner several years ago. The car has been serviced in the past by Kevin Mackay at Corvette Repair and he can be contacted at www.corvetterepair.com for a reference. The motor was professionally rebuilt in 2002. Every effort was made to keep it as close as possible to the original internal specifications. The suspension was rebuilt in 2002, the differential was overhauled as well. It was born with and presently has a 4.56 rear end. The car has open chamber heads on it right now. Based on its build date it should have the closed chamber style heads which were installed when I purchased it. I also have four redline tires and the stock exhaust manifolds. As you can see from the picture the car has a large side exhaust system. The headers and side pipes are made by OK Kustom and are very rare. They actually have a GM part numbers stamped on them and were sold at the dealership back in the day. Obviously this car was born with rear exhaust and can easily be converted back. The mileage indicates 44,000+. (Not presented as actual.) Here are most of the numbers. I know everything is not perfect. Block 3935439 Date J 8 8 Transmission 3925661 77 N569377 Tail Housing 3857584 Bell Housing 3858403 Starter 1108352 8 G 23 Intake 3933198 ( the “98” are ground & stamped) Radiator 3007436 68 J Carburetor 395502 List 4296 D 44 Master Cylinder 5460346 P G Distributor 8 K 22 Surge Tank 68 H Rearend Housing 2FC 5 25 68 W Rearend Cover E 15 8 This is an incredible, real L-88. It would make an excellent candidate for someone who wants to do an NCRS or Bloomington type restoration. It's also a fantastic driver as is. The build date on my car is D11 (November 11th). The casting date on the block is J98 (October 9th, 1968). The pad date on the engine is T1024IT (October 24th, 1968). The original motor was blown by the original owner. It was replaced by the same Chevy dealer where he purchased the car. This is a correct non-original motor. I have the Protect-O-Plate with the original owner's name and
address. The P-O-P reads "T0809IT." Ironically, without the P-O-P this engine could be passed off as original, not something I am claiming. I have the Chain of Ownership. June 23, 2009.
