1969 Corvette 427 Stingray Convertible. Removable hard top/4 speed/with side pipes. I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items: This is our own family car that we have had for a long time. It is part of our collection that has been parked inside and mostly admired. It is extremely fast as the engine was professionally built with a high performance cam and many other high performance parts. The car comes with a 427 engine and a 4 speed transmission that roars with the beautiful side pipes when you drive it. The car has its original hard top and convertible top. The new convertible soft material is still in the box. The car comes with beautiful wheels and tires. About 6 years ago, right before we purchased the car, the previous owner had the engine rebuilt by a professional rebuilder in New York with a cost of over 20k. He claimed that the engine has over 500 horse power, and to handle this much horse power at a high RPM he said that they had to use Marine quality pistons, etc., and it only has 500 miles on the engine since being rebuilt. (I do not know if this is a matching number engine). After I received the car I sent it out to be repainted, and 6k for the paint job, it looks like a jewel. The car also has a fantastic stereo system that was installed professionally is not visible unless you look inside the back of the car (behind the seats). It has its original owner's manual. The car has a clear Texas title. And it is good for a very serious enthusiast. This is the only car that I will personally deliver to a short distance within Texas for a reasonable price. Even though my wife and I love this car and we think this is the best car in the world, it is not a hundred point car so please look at all the pictures. Of course, once you hear it and drive it, you too will be under its spell. What is good about the car: It is a 1969 Convertible 427, it has a 4 speed transmission, It has side pipes, It has a removable hard top, It has a convertible top with a brand new top. It has a fantastic stereo system, It has massive horse power, It has a clear Texas title. It was always parked inside and in the last 6 years it was driven less than 500 miles. What is not so good about the car: I need to sell it because we are buying a large estate. The hood scoop has a little imperfection, it is not very visible. The gas gauge and speedometer gauge are acting up since it was sitting for a while. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is H12. 74,733 miles from the odometer. $20,000 (RnM). May 10, 2015. |
