| Car history: |
| This is my 1969 Chevy Corvette it was originally a 350cuin 350HP CAR and had a 4 speed transmission. I have the original motor and transmission. The car currently has a ZZ350 in it followed by a Doug Nash 5 speed, which includes a steel scatter shield, and a heavy duty clutch. I bought this car from the second owner he had owned it since 1973. The guy I bought it from switched out the tired stock motor for the ZZ350 and the DNE 5 speed back in 1990. Luckily he saved the original motor and transmission, the original hood is also included, it was removed rather than being cut as the high rise aluminum intake on the ZZ350 would have hit the original hood. Other than the engine swap, I would say this car is pretty much a survivor. This car is wearing all of its original paint, and although it’s falling off here and there, at least you can see that the body hasn’t had any major repairs, nor does it have any major flaws, other than there are a couple of small cracks here and there. The car runs and drives and has decent power, but has been sitting for quite some time, so it needs a complete tune-up / carb rebuild / fresh gas before it will be able to really impress anyone with its power. The ZZ350 in the car is rated at 345HP by GM who sold it as a “crate” motor back in the day, these motors were custom built by GM to be small block screamers with aluminum heads / aluminum intake / hydraulic roller cam / 9.5:1 compression. The previous owner figured he had about 20K miles on this motor and transmission. Plan on having to do a total restoration on this car, but the good thing is that it is very original and everything is there. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is M11. may 29, 2011. |
