A beautiful '74 Vette. Beautifully restored. A list of what has been done. 90 % of the interior is new. The paint is new GM paint and was applied by a Chevy Dealer. The motor runs like a charm every time.
The stereo is new, but looks antique. T-tops don't leak. Door Weather Striping is pretty worn Seat covers are original, but in great condition. There is a small puncture on one of the seats. The passenger side door panel is original and needs to be replaced they are all readily available.
At 100,000 miles the motor and the block & heads were removed, re-bored and polished. Carb was replaced with an Holley 600 cfm 4 Barrel. The intake manifold was replaced with an Edelbrock Performer RPM. The engine bay is adorned with chrome on the master cylinder, ac compressor, K&N Air Filter, & Valve Covers. Despite the new air intake and intake manifold the car retains its stock hood.
The motor runs like a charm. In a more recent overhaul at 113,000 I have replaced the master cylinder, point ignition, fuel pump, brake pads, Drivers side real axle, and bearings. Brand new tires I have put the standard 225-70-15's up front, and 255-70-15's on back. These Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s look sweet.
'74 was a memorable year for the Corvette as if made many steps towards becoming a modern muscle car. '74 was the last year for dual exhaust and point ignition. Many have been upgraded for performance purposes, but I prefer the simplicity and genuine factor of the point ignition. '74 was also the first year for the rear urethane rear bumper covers. Unfortunately these in their first year were rather unrefined. They have over time on all Vettes warped and/or cracked. To address the old urethane bumper problems I just replaced both bumper covers with a fiberglass reproduction that stays true to the look of the 74's unique split bumper style,, but instead of 2 pieces is only one with a groove down the middle. The best of both worlds original look and even better durability. The front bumper is painted and looks great, but is not currently attached to the vehicle
