Car history:
1969 Corvette Convertible Bare Body (only), from the firewall back. Auction includes the bare convertible body, original 3-speed manual transmission (???), pedal assembly, some rear wiring harness, speedometer (showing mileage), and the radio antenna cable. Car was originally equipped with air-conditioning (C60). A/C Firewall is in very nice condition, with some original clips and grommets still in place. Car originally had the base 3-speed transmission (only 326 made), which goes with the car, and still has the car's VIN # stamped on the side. Floor has some cracks in the LH (drivers side) foot section, and some other small holes/cracks, but retains the factory cut-out hole for the 3-speed shifter. Rear clip is in good condition, but has had work done to the LH rear quarter panel, and rear taillight panel, which I have tried to show in the pictures. The windshield frame was cut out by the previous owner, in order to repair the rusted areas. Once the situation was accessed further, it was decided the rust was a little too extensive for their anticipated use, and the project was stopped. The windshield frame goes with the car, and still has the original factory VIN tag riveted to the LH pillar post. The VIN tag # matches the VIN # on the transmission, and on the clear Ohio title in my name. Title shows the mileage at 96,005. Speedometer with odometer mileage showing, goes with the car. Casting numbers on the side of the transmission are GM 18, #3925647, date code of C 1 8 (March 1, 1968), and VIN #19S725841. Trim tag was removed when the windshield frame was cut-out, but also goes with the car. Trim Tag Build Date is L24 (July 24, 1969), Paint Code 980 (Riverside Gold), and Trim Code ZQ4 (Standard Black Vinyl). Corvette project body & transmission are located 30 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio (Zip 43130). Ohio is in the Eastern Time Zone.
