Car history:
1) 1968 CORVETTE A/C, POWER WINDOWS, POWER STEERING, RECENT INTERIOR, AUTOMATIC TRANS, WIRE WHEELS, LOW TIME 350 CI MOTOR. The car is in overall great condition, but you can't expect it to be a show car. I'll start with the outside, working my way around, and then from the inside to the bottom. Keep in mind, it is a 68 Corvette that has leather interior, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and functioning air conditioning. The body is in great shape. The car shows very few small, little stress cracks around the headlight door openings, but they are tiny. The hood, doors, fenders, front clip and rear clip look great with no body damage to speak of. There is a small line on the deck lid area where you can see that a repair has been done, but it could easily hidden and blended when the car is repainted. The headlight and wipers doors work as they should. The t-tops are in great shape, and so are their liners. The wheel well lips are excellent, as is the nose. Other than needing paint, there's not a lot to do to the exterior. I've seen many cars in much worse condition selling as excellent for their age or being called a survivor. The truth is, the car just needs a repaint to be awesome, but could be driven just as it is. It's very presentable. The front bumper is very nice, and the rears have pits and light surface rust. They would be great cores for rechroming, or use them as they are and enjoy. The interior is considered excellent. It has a beautiful dash, door panels, carpet, instrument cluster, steering wheel and column, pillar posts, and console. Everything is in working order, except for the original radio, which is long gone and has been replaced with an aftermarket stereo with a CD changer installed behind the passenger seat in the storage bin. It's very neatly done, with no exposed wiring.
The car comes equipped with some rare options for a 1968. If you check your books, you'll see that very few of them came with the following: Leather interior, power windows, power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. All in excellent working order. The frame is very nice, and so is the windshield frame. The wheels are real wire wheels that have the normal pitting and flaking associated with age, but by no means are they trashed. The tires have decent tread, but are old. The brakes are great, having had a master cylinder replaced in the last hundred miles or so. There are no leak to speak of either. The underside is very nice, and not a sloppy mess or one that is all rusty or corroded. The engine has very, very low miles. It is a GM Target Master 350 crate engine. When installed, the car was put back together correctly. The smog equipment is all there and intact, and all of the correct brackets, wires and clamps were used. This was not a hack job by any mean. If the engine was painted orange instead of blue, you'd think it came that way. The exhaust is correct, with the exception of Flowmaster mufflers installed in place of the originals. Paint from the owner. 138,000 miles. March 23, 2009.
