| car is all original except engine was replaced in 1969 under warranty. The engine installed is a 1969 L88 so engine and car numbers are non matching. Car is driven daily runs great. I have owned this car since 1988. Production date of car is 7/19/68 I was told engine was replaced under warranty and the engine block is dated F 17 9 putting it at June 17 1969 11 months after the production date on the tank sticker. Unfortunately most of the tank sticker is damaged by what appears to be gas that leaked past the seal around the seal between the tank and fill pipe. It has an original positive traction 3,36:1 rear end, 4 speed transmission, AM FM radio. It still has all the original glass including the astro ventilation logos on the two door windows. I repainted the car and put a new white top on in 1995. I also rebuilt the engine in 1995 and have driven the car 3500 miles since. The engine has the 12.5-1 free floating pistons, 4 bolt main block, 7/16 large connection rod bolts and 7/16 pushrods. These items are all original GM listed parts. It also has the trapdoor deep oil pan and oil splash protection pan under the intake over the lifter valley. Unfortunately the opened chambered square port heads had developed cracks and I replace them with new heads. This car is very drivable and runs great. The paint is several years old and has a few very minor chips and expectable wear. The interior is all standard and has some wear also. I believe this car could bring big money if someone took a little time and finished the items that have wear. BiN $63,000. July 13, 2015. |
