This 1971 Corvette Coupe was a special order vehicle for a lady in Corpus Christi, Texas who kept it in their family for 30 years and has the plaque where Chevrolet engraved her name and placed it on the headliner. I have owned for 8 years and love it. I am technically the 3rd owner, I bought the car from a friend of mine locally who bought the car from the original owners (my friend owned only a few months). The car is as reliable as they come. I drive the car on a regular basis and it has never failed to start. In 8 years the car has been in the shop 4 times, twice for brake adjustment and twice for freon for AC which it is due now.....The only other issue is the dash lights. I have replaced the fuse twice and it works for a little while and blows. I have never taken it anywhere for repair but can't imagine it would be to expensive to fix. I just rarely ever drive it at night, so it hasn't been a problem or concern of mine. The car drives great with very few rattles and tracts as straight as an arrow. The transmission shifts smooth and the 350 has plenty of power. The block is not original, but period correct ('74). The original owner replaced it and my friend I bought it from took it to a local shop here in Alexandria and put some performance parts in it. (I have records). The car has never been restored as it has always been driven and maintained in really good condition. Interior: Is in really good shape with no need for repairs or replacement. Exterior: I painted the car a beautiful Steel Gray when I bought it 8yrs ago. As far as paint condition goes it looks great and is still glossy, but has rock chips here and there from being a true drivers car. The body is darn near flawless, so if you wanted perfection a new paint job would be inexpensive. The original color was Ontario Orange. Bottomline....This Stingray is a solid and reliable example which is truely priceless in the vintage Corvette world.
