| Original engine, transmission. Speedometer says (1)35,000. Car was painted some time prior to my purchase 5 1/2 years ago. Original color with added metallic and is 2 stage paint clear coat. My friend Robert, who paints cars said this is one of the best paint jobs he has seen. I purchased it from Corvettes and Classics in Houston; the car had been setting for an unknown period of time prior to my purchase, previous owner was and elder Houston gentleman, I think Corvettes and Classic got it from his estate. I rebuilt/replaced the brake calipers with stainless and replaced the master cylinder right after I purchased the car Replaced/rebuilt front end, with all new ball joints, steering components, and bushings - car drives and handles like a new 71 Corvette Replaced rear spring with fiberglass spring to improve ride. New tires. Replaced timing chain. Replaced water pump. Car has Hooker headers (installed by a prior owner). AC has been converted. Power steering. Chrome is in very good condition. I am having a vacuum issue with the wiper door that needs to be resolved, it seems to be a leak but I cannot find it. - Wipers work. Interior is in very good condition. I recently replaced plastic parts around the parking brake and behind the seats (tunnel parts). I replaced the steering wheel with a handmade Teak wheel. ($600) it is very nice. I had glass tops on it but switched back to the original fiberglass tops. It is a very good show car, I have won 1st place trophies throughout The area, Austin, Temple, Waco. It features a rare color, Brands Hatch Green with matching Dark Green Vinyl interior, Turbo Hydramatic Automatic transmission, Power steering, Air Conditioning. Car is mostly original with only a newer paint job. Engine and transmission have matching numbers, AC is fully functional. Bushings, ball joints were replaced, brakes/calipers restored. June 9, 2009 |
