Car history:
The 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1, Gold with Brown interior. If there ever was an era car that the look spoke the year it was from, this is it. This highly optioned car has a beautiful body with the hidden wipers, hidden headlights and T-tops, you can't get more nostalgic for the early 70's than this. You saw this car in a detached garage in your Mom's/Grandma's neighborhood with the old 5 hole Crager mag wheels on it. Now it's your turn. 1972 marked the last year for the chrome bumper Corvette's and ended the entire classic look of Corvette's American Muscle-urethane bumpers would be the next in safety, but as luck would have it this beautiful restoration has all the look and allure of the good years. The removable rear window was last to be featured on this year vehicle as well, another neat feature that lends itself to a time gone by. The 350 block produced 255 hp but don't let that rating fool you-this car has plenty of power. Due to ensuing government regulations, GM moved from SAE gross standard horsepower (at the flywheel) and moved towards SAE net measurement for power (at the wheel). In fact, the car had enough torque (360 ft lbs) that the LT-1 equipped cars with air conditioning had the base engines 5600 rpm redline tach versus the 6500 rpm redline tach due to the engineers fears of shredding fan belts on high speed runs. This beautiful War Bonnet Yellow (gold) car has A/C and a four speed manual transmission, the original rally wheels with correct center and trim rings, riding on 245/60 SR15 Michelin Sport EPX's. It also is equipped with the following optional equipment-power steering, power brakes, power windows, an AM/FM radio, three point seat belts, and luggage rack. 112,419 miles from the odometer. Colors from the owner. January 21, 2009.
