| Car history: |
Posted 10/02/2018 Pics 1-10 Spring of 2017, I found this original Corvette in a climate controlled garage where a small collection had been stored for many years. There was no documentation to be found but a thorough, expert inspection indicated that this was an original car with no rust issues or evidence of damage repairs. After the initial start up procedures, it was kept under a cover in my carport briefly, then left in Tuscaloosa Chevrolet's climate controlled shop for four months while I moved to Florida. It now resides in my home's climate controlled garage. I drive it once or twice a month to local cruise-ins and car shows, where it draws a lot of attention. The paint and interior appear to be original. The black leather interior has no rips or tears, and no cracks in the dash pad. The A/C and all the gauges work (except the clock, of course). The headlights and wipers operate perfectly. The carpet is in good condition other than a small wear hole on the drivers side. The paint is faded a little on the upper surfaces, and the usual minor scratches and dings to be expected on an original, unrestored car. The odometer is showing just over 36K which, from the overall condition of the car, appears to be original. The engine is the correct, numbers-matching 454/365hp LS5. The automatic transmission is very clean and was probably replaced or rebuilt at some point in the recent past.
Tuscaloosa Chevrolet senior ASC Technician performed most of the work listed below to make this a dependable, reliable, yet still original driver. Goodwrench Multi-point Inspection New shocks New rear leaf spring New exhaust and mufflers New battery Carburetor rebuild Fuel filter New brake calipers and pads New alternator Amsoil 10W30 ZRod Synthetic Motor Oil Amsoil Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter Amsoil 75W90 Synthetic Gear Lube + positraction additive A/C flush and conversion to R1345A Drained oil from compressor, evaporator, condenser, and lines Replaced receiver/dehydrator Replaced suction discharge and liquid AC lines Charged with 2.4 lbs. of R134A Installed electronic ignition in existing distributor Set timing Replaced spark plugs Replaced fuel pump Replaced spindle/axle bearings and seals, shimmed for proper end play Replaced front wheel bearings and seals Replaced master cylinder and booster Bled brakes Replaced parking brake springs and hardware.
