This Corvette Stingray Coupe was built over 36 years ago on June 12, 1972 with the following options: 200 H.P. 350 C.I.D. V-8 Engine, THM 400 Automatic, Transmission, Air Conditioning, Rochester Quadra-Jet Four-Barrel Carburetor, Mille Miglia Red Paint (973), Black Vinyl Interior (400), T-Tops, Removable Back Window Glass, Tilt/Telescopic Steering Wheel, Power Steering, Power Brakes. Signature Series Steering Wheel (engraved with Zora Arkus-Duntov's signature) The Paint: The exterior color of this Corvette is a brite beautiful solid red that is believed to be the original Mille Miglia Red (973). The paint is in very nice condition. It does have a few minor blemishes. The Interior: This Corvette's original black vinyl interior is still intact and impressive! With the exception of an aftermarket radio and the signature series steering wheel it is all original. It does not appear that the dash was "cut" to install the radio. The Engine: Currently the original engine is not installed. The original engine block, crank, pistons, and oil pan are available. The block appears to have been cleaned and new cam bearings installed. There is no apparent damage to the original block. The "numbers" on the original engine block DO match this Corvette's VIN number. The reasoning behind replacing the engine is unknown. It is my belief that since none of the original cam related components exist that it likely suffered cam damage of some sort. I believe that the original cylinder heads, intake, carburetor, and transmission are currently installed in the car and in very good working order. Known History: I purchased this car on April 17, 1996. All of the vehicle's history prior to that date is unknown. I have taken very good care of this car. It has been garage stored and covered. Shortly after purchasing the car the fuel tank had to be replaced. I did not think to save the build sheet, nor do I remember that it was even present at the time. I have also replaced the windshield wiper motor. 41,000 miles. November 1, 2008 |
