| Car history: |
I bought the car in September of 07 from a friend in Illinois who owned it for 15 years. I got the car completely original, unrestored and very tired. It needed pretty much everything, but did run and drive good with only 80k miles on it. I've been chipping away at the restoration process and so far have done most of the necessary mechanics and have had it painted. I went with the original code 13 silver paint, but left off the Silver Anniversary decals going for a cleaner look. I also traded out the original alloys for the standard Rally wheels with BFG Radials. I've owned several Corvettes that were too valuable to stray from bone stock, so I am taking some small liberties with this one. The car has become a very presentable and dependable driver that I plan to drive to the Bloomington show this spring.
I just completed a very correct restoration on another car and am having fun experiencing the freedom of doing what I want to on this one. The plan is to keep it looking completely stock, but personalizing a bit with things like sound system, tinted windows (I live in Arizona) and the paint / wheel combination I mentioned. |
